In our modern, individualistic society, there is a dangerous and pervasive lie that has taken root: the belief that we can go it alone, that we can be our own gods, and that we have no need for the community. But this is a direct contradiction of God’s design for humanity. The Bible tells us that we are social creatures, made for relationship with God and with one another. Our very nature cries out for connection, and when that connection is severed, it leads to suffering and despair.
