In recent years, the term “deconstruction” has gained popularity among those who grew up in the church or who once held to Christianity but now find themselves questioning or even abandoning their beliefs. For many, deconstruction represents a process of breaking down the beliefs they once held to reassess them. While critical thinking and examination of faith are important, there is a real danger in this modern trend of deconstructing Christianity. What starts as an effort to understand faith more deeply can easily lead to doubt, rejection of scripture, and an eventual departure from the truth.
